Returns & Refund Policy

At Formed Studios, each piece is carefully crafted and produced on a made-to-order basis. Due to the nature of our products, our returns and refund policy is structured in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.

1. Made-to-Order Products

All products are made to order unless explicitly stated otherwise. This means items are produced specifically for each customer once an order is placed.

As a result, returns and refunds are limited and subject to the conditions outlined below.

2. Defective or Damaged Products

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), customers are entitled to a remedy if a product is defective, damaged, or not fit for its intended purpose.

If your item arrives damaged or defective, you must notify us within 7 days of delivery. We may request photos or videos to assess the issue.

Where applicable, we will offer one of the following remedies:

  • Repair of the product
  • Replacement of the product
  • Refund of the purchase price

3. Returns for Non-Defective Items

If you wish to return a product for reasons other than defects (including change of mind or no specific reason), the return may be accepted at our discretion.

Approved returns of this nature will be subject to a 40% handling and restocking fee due to the custom and made-to-order nature of our products.

The item must be returned unused, in its original condition, and in original packaging where possible.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items may not be eligible for return:

  • Customised or personalised products
  • Products made to specific customer specifications
  • Items that have been used, altered, or damaged after delivery

5. Return Process

To initiate a return, please contact us at info@formedstudios.co.za with your order details and reason for return.

Returns must be approved before any items are sent back. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.

Unless the item is defective, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

6. Refunds

Once a returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe.

Any applicable handling fees or deductions will be applied before the refund is issued.

7. Consumer Protection Act Compliance

This policy is designed in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit your statutory rights under the CPA.
